Austin, Texas – February 4, 2009 – ClearOrbit's Xtended Process Control (X.PC) software has enabled leading pet care products manufacturer, Petmate, to significantly improve the company’s order fulfillment and enhance customer service by streamlining the exchange of real-time order and shipment information with supply chain partners. In only 10 weeks (well above industry standard), X.PC transformed Petmate’s manual approach to working with manufacturers through a Web-based collaborative environment that creates efficient, shared communications and produces timely, accurate inventory and shipment data for all parties. As a result, Petmate can now better synchronize activity with its supply chain partner network and incorporate new partners more easily. And partners can easily access order information, labels and shipping documentation, while feeding Petmate’s enterprise system with real-time data. Because X.PC works with existing ERP data models, Petmate was able to preserve their investment in systems and training without costly modifications to application code.

Black adds that ClearOrbit’s technology has improved the process by which drop ship sales orders were handled between the Oracle ERP, Petmate operations personnel and current sales order drop shipment contract manufacturers. “By improving process efficiency and removing the need for our personnel to manually email shipment information, perform purchase order receipts and execute shipping transactions in the ERP — along with adding real-time visibility to Petmate’s sales orders and shipping status — our supply chain processes have improved significantly.”
The improved exchange of information has eased shipping processes for Petmate’s contract manufacturers by simplifying compliance with end-customers’ labeling requirements by providing a centralized library of approved formats. ClearOrbit’s application gives Petmate increased scalability to expand to additional contract manufacturers by dramatically reducing the amount of activity performed in-house on behalf of the contract manufacturers. Today, Petmate centrally manages label formatting and changes, and suppliers can print compliant labels onsite.
