Welch's Boosts Data Integrity in Warehousing/Distribution

August 04, 2009

Welch Foods Inc. chooses TAKE Supply Chain to improve warehouse and inventory management operations with the Gemini Simplified Interface mobile software solution (Gemini or G.SI) for Oracle Process Manufacturing (OPM). With Gemini, Welch's is expected to improve operational control, inventory accuracy, visibility and order fulfillment by automating processes across three production/warehousing locations nationwide.

"We are extremely pleased with the results achieved with Gemini in gaining significant data integrity improvements, which have led to better accuracy, timeliness and visibility across our warehousing and distribution operations," says Ray Gosselin, vice president of information systems and chief information officer, Welch's. "Vital to our success too was the fact that TAKE worked with our teams to ensure seamless integration to Oracle, so we could immediately experience the benefits of the system and begin to fully leverage our OPM investment."

Gemini controls inventory data collection and management across Welch's entire product line of juices, spreads and fruit products.

"Since implementing [TAKE Supply Chain]'s solution, our inventory is visible throughout the enterprise, and we can more easily identify products and prioritize them for shipping. This enables us to track the flow of products in and out of our warehouse and reduces the time our warehouse employees spend searching for inventory."
